As ordered reported by the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs on July 30, 2014
S. 2299 would authorize through 2019 a grant program to preserve Native American languages. CBO estimates that implementing the legislation would cost $17 million over the 2015-2019 period, assuming appropriation of the necessary amounts.
Pay-as-you-go procedures do not apply to this legislation because it would not affect direct spending or revenues.
S. 2299 contains no intergovernmental or private-sector mandates as defined in the
Unfunded Mandates Reform Act.
